Jane Fondu

A woman with short curly brown hair and green eyes smiling, wearing large black headphones around her neck, yellow star-shaped earrings, and an orange knit sweater, standing in front of a textured orange wall with a modern wall sconce emitting warm light.

Who is this Sydney Vinyl DJ?

Fondu brings her fans a unique selection of innovative indie releases and precious old-school gems, serving everything from edgy dance tunes to loungey soul. With a penchant for the lesser-heard, and a soft spot for sparkling 80s disco, her sets are better described by mood rather than genre. Lush, laid-back soundscapes emerge as likely as frenetic dancefloors.

Fondu’s vinyl & digital collections span Euro-disco, Balearic beats, global rhythms, soul, electronica, lounge, post-punk & indie, with smatterings of dub, reggae, rap & whatever else takes her fancy! Her knack of bringing it all together in a seamless flow is what she’s told makes her sets unique.

Fondu hosts ‘The Weekly Meltdown’ every Saturday on Sydney’s 2SER radio, spotlighting local artists & eclectic releases. She’s been a mainstay in bars, venues & festivals for over 25 years throughout Melbourne, Montreal, and now Sydney, playing numerous events & venues. To list a few locals: Sydney Fashion Week, Sydney World Pride, Newtown Hotel, The Imperial, Abercrombie, Uncanny, Marrickville Hotel & Golden Age Cinema.

Her love of DJing & empowering women & gender diverse folk has also seen her teaching accessible DJ workshops & private lessons.

  • "I had the pleasure of having Jane Fondu play at my 50th birthday at the Hollywood Hotel. She had the whole party dancing minutes into her cracking set. All my friends are now totally obsessed with her! "

A woman in a floral strapless dress wearing headphones is DJing behind a glass window at a venue. She is smiling and looking down at the DJ equipment with turntables and a mixer. The background has framed artwork and photos on the wall, and reflections of the street scene outside are visible in the glass.
